Hot Wings

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, tips removed and split at the joint
  • salt + pepper
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup Frank's hot sauce, or hot sauce of your choice (omit this ingredient if you are making any of the above suggested wing sauce combinations)
Instructions
  1. Preheat grill to 500 degrees.
  2. Season wings with salt and pepper. When grill is heated, add wings and turn the heat down to medium. Continue to cook with the lid closed until wings are cooked through (about 6-7 minutes per side).
  3. Meanwhile, in a small sauce pan on medium heat, heat the coconut oil. Add minced garlic, and cook for about 20 seconds, stirring frequently being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add hot sauce (and other ingredients if making any of the sauce combinations listed above) and let simmer on medium low for 5 minutes. Keep sauce warm until wings finish cooking.
  5. After wings have cooked through, remove and place into a large mixing bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings, toss to coat.
